Let The Little Children Come to Me
Our son Graham, now seven years old, is our little evangelist. God has put this in his heart from the beginning.
It doesn’t matter where we are: in the restaurant, post office, bank, store or anywhere else, he always asks people the same question: “Do you know God?” He approaches complete strangers and carries on a complete conversation with them. He usually gets their attention by saying, “Excuse me ma’am, do you know God?” or “Sir, do you know God?” He waits for them to turn and give their attention and then he respectfully asks them directly. He is genuinely interested in their lives, how many children they have and what kind of job they do, but at the forefront of his mind and concern is their relationship with God and how that affects their soul for eternity. It is always the first thing he asks. I just smile and allow them to answer.
Recently on our Christmas vacation, we were traveling south on the interstate and had stopped at a gas station. When I returned from the ladies room, the man working at the convenience store asked me if I was the mom to those little boys who had just been in the store. When I realized he was referring to the twins, Grayson and Graham, I said yes. He commended me on what a great mother I was and told me what Graham has asked him. Of course I knew what question it was; it would be the same question that he always asks. I smiled and told the man that it was really what God had put in Graham’s heart and that I could take no credit. The gentleman said that it blessed him so much because he has a personal relationship with God and wished people had more passion to know Him and to tell others. He was visibly moved and was refreshed by what the Bible calls a kindred spirit, the Spirit of God shared among believers, even from the youngest of the family of God, and the young little heart for God expressed by a child.
A few months ago, my husband, Billy mentioned at the dinner table that there was a lady in Korea that might need some training for her company from the university Billy represents. Immediately, our then six-year-old Graham spoke up and asked, “Do people in that country worship God? Does that lady and her company know Jesus, cause I just want to know, cause I could go and tell them about Jesus, when I grow up.” He was extremely sincere and ready to be commissioned.
That was a motherhood moment I won’t soon forget.
I know it must please the heart of God when His children love Him and want others to know His love too. I hope we can all be inspired to express our love for God more.
“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me,” Matthew 18:2-5 (NKJV).
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven,” Matthew 19:14 (NKJV).

You are training the children so well and our continual prayer is that God will continue to use you and the family as a witness for Him. Love to all of you." - Ruth |
