Pound Cake
Everyone loves pound cake. This recipe is definitely a crowd pleaser. Make it for a party, small gathering or for any occasion.
Cake Ingredients:
- 1 c Butter, Softened
- 3 1/4 c Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 6 Eggs
- 3 c Cake Flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/3 c Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Cake Directions:
- Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each on.
- Combine flour and salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour into greased and floured tube pan Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.
- Serve plain or with papaya topping.
Topping Ingredients:
- 1/2 c Sugar
- 1/2 c Water
- 3 c Papaya, chopped
- 2 T Lime juice
Topping Directions:
- Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens.
- Add papaya and lime juice; simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until mixture is reduced by half.
- Serve over pound cake.
