Airplane Adventure
Grayson and Graham, our five-year-old twins couldn't wait to fly on the big airplane. They were so excited. Although they had flown before when they were babies, this was the first time that they could remember. They observed every detail and didn't miss a thing! Their little faces had the gaze of adventure, and their minds were full of wonder, and questions. We were on our way to visit Billy's parents in Arizona. The plane took off and climbed higher and higher to their utter amazement. When we were high above the clouds, where it looked like we could step out and walk on the pillows of blue and white cotton, Graham looked out the window and asked right out loud so that fellow travelers could easily hear... "Wow! Look Mom! Are we in Heaven?"
The other twin, Grayson, had a different experience:
We had taken off from Atlanta and before the plane left the ground; Grayson had looked out the window and observed all the details on the tarmac, the suitcases going onto planes, technicians at work, and other planes making their way to the runway. When we landed in Phoenix about six hours later, he looked out the window again, and saw the same sort of thing going on. Then he exclaimed to me, with all sincerity and innocence, "Mom, we're back where we started!"
