Christmas Miracle
While at work one December day, I got a call from a neighbor. She said, "Come home immediately, your husband is being taken to the hospital." My husband had decided to surprise me by hanging the icicle lights outside our house. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell off the ladder. He fell through the bushes, bounced off the handrail, onto our front steps, and landed on the cement sidewalk. The neighbors came running over to help him. He was dazed and in a lot of pain. Our neighbors called 911 for an ambulance. I met him at the hospital where they did x-rays and found that his lower lumbar was broken. He left the hospital with heavy pain medication. We both prayed that night that God would heal his back. The next day, we had to visit Portsmouth Naval Hospital for treatment. The hospital had to take new x-rays since the x-rays from the other hospital never arrived. When the doctor came in he said, "I have good news, your lower lumbar is NOT broken." He said, "The other hospital must have read your x-ray incorrectly." Well, we believed otherwise and gave God the credit.
