Scavenger Hunt Birthday Party
Birthday parties are a great way to get kids together for some fun activities and social fun! With a little creativity, you can make a plan that all will enjoy!
When we recently asked our daughter what she would like to do for her 12th birthday party, she wanted some of her friends from church to come to our house and have a scavenger hunt!
Her brothers helped to plan her party and wrote the riddles for the games. The girls divided into two teams and started their mission. Their goal was to go door to door in the neighborhood and collect all 20 items on the list before the other team. Participants gathered such treasures as a cotton ball, a rubber band, a Band-Aid and a paper clip. Neighbors willingly participated to see the girls respond with such excitement to meet the challenge and the race!
Next, the girls were given a clue with a riddle that led to another clue. Once such riddle was, “I have a lot of keys, but no locks, who am I?” The girls had to figure out that that was the piano, and go and find their next clue there!
One party guest, Lauren, even wrote a riddle about her gift. She had carefully placed dollar bills inside each balloon for a fun surprise! This is what she wrote:
If you desire a gift from me,
I suggest you listen carefully.
Your gift is fournd way up top,
To understand me you must pop.
I give you a dollar and if you want more,
Pop those balloons that, in the sky, soar.
You'll find some cash,
In the balloons you smash.
Happy birthday my friend,
But its not the end,
You have to pop,
and never stop,
until you find the cash,
Then my present will be given at last.
Good Luck!!
We had snacks, prizes and cake for the girl’s and Gillian enjoyed her birthday celebration!
With a little creativity and a few friends, you can make any party fun!
