Drenched In His Presence
Have you ever stood under a waterfall and had the streams of water pour over your head and saturate you completely? It is quite exhilarating and refreshing!
My husband, Billy, took these pictures of Multnomah Falls recently while he was on a business trip in Portland, Oregon. When I saw the beautiful scenic view, my spirit recalled to my mind how I love to go to a symbolic spiritual waterfall during my prayer time and be drenched from head to toe.
The beauty of the Lord’s presence is breathtaking and when we take time to be spiritually drenched and soak under the downpour of His presence we are cleansed, renewed and refreshed. Our spiritual senses are stimulated with a life-giving source—the Living Water!
Psalm 100:4 tells us how to go to this special place where the Lord dwells by the Spirit… “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.”
So what should we be thankful for? David answers that just a few chapters later : “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s,” Psalm 103:1-5.
Women, I encourage you to go to a quiet place in your home, closet, chapel, car, or office; close your eyes and meditate on this scripture until your heart is filled with thanksgiving to God which will bring you into His presence. Wait there until the waterfalls shower over you and drench you in the fullness of the Spirit of God. I promise it will be a life-giving experience that you will come back to over and over again! It will be good for you, and good for all those around you!
