Homemade Cranberry SauceCranberries are such an awesome little fruit. Packed full of good stuff. I grew up eating the jellied variety of cranberries at Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is nothing wrong with jellied cranberries, but then I came across a recipe and got homemade cranberry sauce and gave it my own spin.
Ingredients:
- 1 bag fresh or frozen whole cranberries
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp (or so) vanilla
- 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover and let simmer until all the berries pop (I love that…such an exciting little fruit!).
- After about 5-8 minutes of simmering, take the pan off the burner and let cool.
- Eat or refrigerate. Serve hot or at room temperature.
May your Holiday meals fill and nourish your bodies the way the Word of the Lord fills your Spirit.
