Soaking Prayer, Empties the Soul

Prayer, soaking prayer is more powerful than the atomic bomb.  Through soaking prayer we can grow exponentially.

Spending time in the presence of God accelerates us through time that has been wasted because we operate at a supernatural level.  This process occurs as we command the flesh, the carnal part of man, the soul, the will of human flesh to yield and wait on the Lord.  In 3 John verse two the Scripture says, “Beloved I pray, for you to prosper in all things and be in good health just as your soul prospers.” In this text, the Greek word for prosper is euodoo meaning “help on the road” or “succeed in reaching.”

The Apostle John is declaring that he understands the importance of using the vehicle of prayer, the need for the body of Christ to prosper in each God-led endeavor and the correlation between our successes and the redemptive work of the soul.  This is huge for the believer, because the soul of a man can either agree or disagree with the spirit of a man.  The soul is the part of us that distinguishes our individuality and yet must be retrained with the sword of the spirit (James 1:21) to honor God.

During soaking prayer, the soul can be trained, to hear from Holy Spirit and the spirit of God inside of you, this is your spirit.  Remember, our spirit is the part of God, that God breathe into Adam.  It’s the eternal part of man; this is the part that hears, communes and worships with Father God who’s essence is Spirit.

While listening to soaking music, the melody or lyrics ride on invisible sound waves that enter into our soul and helps us to wait, and become emptied out of a carnal way of living in exchange for hearing God’s voice.  The soul also becomes more aware of the omnipotence of God, that with Him all things are possible.  In this surrendered posture, Holy Spirit within our spirit ministers truths to us about our King, His love and dominion extended to all believers.  We identify lies and replace them with truths from the Word read during this time or previously.  I love this time because we actually become aware of the need for God and surrender to His love before He asks us. This is the part of soaking that we can journal and record nuggets or mysteries revealed.

Soaking prayer can also be a type of seeking God and resting in God.  We seek Him because He is the only one who can satisfy every need, we love Him because we desire the most beautiful Excellent One, and we rest in Him because He is the most faithful one (Psalm 27:4). In Psalm 27:14, King David says to wait on the Lord…. (why) to be of good courage… (the results) He shall strengthen your heart (soul)

Psalm 23:1-3 says the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters, and He restores my soul.  Why does the soul need to be strengthened and restored? Because it is affected by the natural realm and loses sight of our Godly position when not nurtured.  King David learned that the soul needed to be retrained to cultivate a love and devotion to the Lord and that this devotion is developed by seeking, hungering and thirsting to know and understand the greatness of Jesus’ love for us and in us (Psalm 63 & Ephesians 3:14-19).

At the beginning of this year, the Lord spoke to me and said, “you don’t have to come in and out of my presence; I will teach you how to live in my presence.”  I believe that soaking is a venue in which we can learn to cultivate an awareness of God and maintain a lifestyle in which we are walking in the Spirit, not walking in the soul! As we practice creating an atmosphere for His glorious presence daily we will become a part of the Joshua generation, who did not leave the presence of God, but learned how to apprehend His presence (Exodus 33:11). May we practice waiting in His presence to such a degree that He supernaturally draws us into the Glory realm. Then we will run after Him with supernatural assistance (Song of Solomon 1:4a).  Blessings!

"Heather, This was so profound and true.Your last paragraph says it all. "soaking is a venue in which we can learn to cultivate an awareness of God and maintain a lifestyle in which we are walking in the Spirit, not walking in the soul!" We do no thave to be in and ou tof His presence. In other word, keeping the wineskin supple and moist...not cracked and brittle. Thanks for sharing."
