Shermaine Jones
I grew up in a God-fearing, but non-Christian, broken home. I was taught to say my prayers, be kind and follow moral standards but I was not taught the gospel or the Bible. Because a distant cousin became a pastor in a church in my neighborhood and reached out to me through the youth group, I began going to church at age 13. I committed my life to Christ when I was 16. At that moment, I entered into a relationship with God that has deepened over the years.
While attending the University of Pennsylvania, as a nursing student, I received the call to ministry. As a result, I transfered to Philadelphia College of Bible where I graduated with a B.S. in Bible/Christian Education. From there I attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield , Illinois and received my Masters in Religious Education.
From the time I was 18, I have ministered the Word of God to all ages. It has been my desire to help others know the Word of God so that they may know the God of the Word. The calling on my life is to equip others to fullfill their God-given destiny and purpose through getting to know the One who has made them. I have two teenaged boys who have been my first focus of ministry. God has taught me much through being a wife and a mother. I have been homeschooling for 11 years. I've taught Bible classes for a homeschool enrichment center. I have designed and lead Christian Life seminars, ministered in Churches, and at women's retreats and conferences and have done one on one discipleship.
I have just recently become a professor and Academic Dean at Tidewater Bible College in Virginia Beach, VA. By His grace and divine flow, I am called to love God and love His people. One of my life verses is "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21.
