Heather Gwaltney
After completing an undergraduate degree in French, Heather traveled from her home state of Wisconsin to Virginia Beach, VA, to attend graduate school for international business. There she met a fine Southern man who impressed her with his gentlemanly manners and a heart hungry for God's will in his life. After completing their MBAs, Lee and Heather were married and found themselves unexpectedly expecting within the first month of their marriage. Heather's intention was always to stay home to raise her children, but the timing (which admittedly was God's and not her own) was a surprise. With a baby on the way there was no turning back from motherhood, so the career had to be put on hold. As God revealed His plans for her life, she realized there was a different career in the making which would be her life's work. 14 years and seven children later, Heather has come to the conclusion that God's plans are always far better than our best imaginings. Heather enjoys road trips with her family in their enormous van, walking in the woods and sailing in her tiny sailboat with any family member who will go with her. When she has two hands free and a little time to spare, (which frankly happens less and less often), she enjoys sewing, crocheting and playing the piano. She is grateful for the privilege of being a wife and mother, a homeschool teacher and the manager of an energetic household.
