Shirley Shedd
Shirley Shedd is a wife, mother (of 3), grandmother (of 10, with #11 on the way), archivist at Evangel University in Springfield, MO; editor, writer, photographer (amateur!), and avid reader. Her major project now is locating and making available to her cousins (she has 55 first cousins) old family pictures.
She is professor emeritus of communication at Evangel University where she taught communication (primarily writing courses) for 25 years and was department chair for 19 years. She was adviser to the weekly college newspaper for 25 years, and served as yearbook adviser for three years during various faculty vacancies. Prior to teaching at Evangel, she taught at Central Bible College for five years and in the public schools for six years. Her major goal now is to write a history of the Evangel Communication Department.
She and her husband Glenroy (who semi-retired after 25 years as Christian education minister at Central Assembly in Springfield and is now a full-time curriculum editor for Global University) love to travel, both in the States and abroad. A highlight is visiting son Brad Shedd (associate pastor at Harvest Assembly) and family in Chesapeake, VA, and son Tim (associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of WI/Madison) and wife and son in Madison, WI. Daughter Christy is a pharmacist in Springfield and has two children. She and her husband own a 170-acre farm about 25 miles north of Springfield and are getting ready to start building their dream home. Shirley childsits with grandson Jack (4) three days a week.
MyfriendDebbie.com has reunited her with her former student, Debbie Reynolds Harper. She is delighted to work with this exciting online magazine that ministers to so many women.
